When Training Meets Technology: A Body-Cam Breakdown of a Justified OIS

Hello!

I published a clip cut from my longer live stream where I discussed several topics. One topic was Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS)

OIS is the standard US law-enforcement term for any incident where a police officer discharges a firearm at a person (sometimes broadened to include any discharge that hits or endangers someone). It's used in policy documents, internal reviews, and news coverage because it's neutral about who was at fault. Investigators use it before any judgment about justification is made.

The main lesson to learn for my video is that police officers have in addition to several other responsibilities two things to do when the encounter hostile suspect. They have to stop the resistance by using lawful force AND then they have to provide first aid to that suspect if the suspect is hurt.

Short video about that is here: https://youtube.com/shorts/mxxTs6YSqOc?feature=share

And the longer here: https://youtu.be/t21kJ1j8eqs

Let me know what you think!
